Comet specializes in from-scratch comfort food and craft beers. We use fresh, seasonal ingredients that are characteristic of the Midwest and purchased from as many local businesses and purveyors as possible. SOME STUFF TO KNOW ABOUT COMET
We are a little cafe with a little kitchen! We cook great, from-scratch food, but not fast food. During our peak dining hours we often have a wait for a table and now and then those waits can be long. And sometimes if we are super busy, our little griddles can get backed up and it may take a bit for your food to be prepared. Rest assured, we are moving as fast as we can - we want everyone to get a seat and have a great meal. Enjoy the time out with your friends and family! That's what "slow food" is all about.
Kids are always welcome with their parents at Comet - however we do not have a kids menu and we do tend to cater to adult customers. No one under the age of 21 is allowed in Comet after 10:00pm.
We do not accept reservations. We are happy to accommodate large parties, but cannot seat groups bigger than 14 together. We only have one spot in our cafe that can seat a party bigger than 7 so please be aware that at peak dining hours, waits for large parties can be long.
On Saturdays and Sundays we serve our brunch menu from 9:00am - 3:00pm. For you fans of Diners, Drive Ins and Dives that are thinking of visiting us over the weekend - that menu does NOT include our meatloaf and mashed potatoes, AJs Compact Turkey Dinner or the burgers. We begin serving our lunch/dinner menu at 3:00pm on Saturday and Sunday.
